When two passionate, full-blood producers unite under one vision, the result is Cattle Group. Walter Kinnear of Walmaine and Nico Lerm of Lasarus Game Farm have joined forces to showcase their exceptional Ankole cattle.

The Spirit of Africa – The Ankole

Bred in Africa for Africa, the Ankole is renowned for its adaptability, thriving even in the harshest conditions. With their striking horns and commanding presence, Ankoles bring the WOW factor to any farm, much like the iconic African buffalo.

In African culture, a man’s status has long been symbolized by the cattle he owns. This rich tradition continues to inspire and enrich the lives of producers and breeders across South Africa.

Within our distinguished herd of Ankole cattle, we have assembled some of the finest genetics available, including from bulls such as:

To complement these outstanding sires, we have acquired exceptional females from renowned breeding lines, including Botse daughters and granddaughters, Valentine daughters (Valentine sold for R1,000,000 at last year’s national auction), and well-known Cleopatra daughters, and many more.

Through careful selection and strategic breeding, we’ve combined these elite bloodlines to create an impressive lineup of animals that will be featured at our first-ever Cattle Group auction, hosted in partnership with Lasarus Game Farm.
